Ground-source heat pumps have shown up as a promising technology to offer efficient heating under cold weather conditions. Furthermore, as any other heat pump, it can be used for providing cooling. This project will review how ground-source heat pumps operate and weigh in their pros and cons. The project will end with their simplified modeling for a techno-economic evaluation with a mixed-integer linear optimization model.
