Funding entity WWF/Adena
The objective of the project is to analyse different evolution scenarios for the Spanish electricity sector for 2010 and 2020, accounting for the influence of the European Directives on Emissions Trading and Large Combustion Plants, with the ultimate goal of providing a guide for the electricity sector and regulators about the electricity generation patterns which should be followed in order to allow for a carbon-free sector by 2050. The ESPAM model developed at IIT has been used for this analysis.
