Analysis of RENFE power system control center at Miranda

J.A. Rodríguez-Mondéjar C. Fernández R. Santodomingo

December 2004 - December 2005

Funding entity RENFE Mantenimiento de Infraestructura

Most current power system control and automation systems are based on the supervisory control and data acquisition model (SCADA). A central master station, located at the control center, gathers information from a number of remote terminal units (RTUs), which are based in substations. While the SCADA model provides acceptable performance and reliability, it has a number of drawbacks. The aim of this project is a full analysis of the current SCADA at the RENFE power system control center situated in Miranda.
